The facts on surf safety at Burleigh Beach… The Burleigh Heads Mowbray Park Surf Life Saving Club sits proudly at the base of the famous Burleigh Headland. The club has approximately 250 Active Patrol members who voluntarily patrol the beach to ensure your safety. Always swim between the red and yellow flags on patrolled beaches. DO NOT swim alone or surf at beaches not patrolled by Lifeguards or Lifesavers. DO NOT panic if caught in a rip, current or undertow – swim diagonally across it or if you need help raise one arm straight up and float until help arrivess.
